MagyarGoogle Gemini: AI chatbot Bard is dead, Gemini Advanced (Ultra 1.0) as a subscription for 22 euros
The Google chatbot Bard is dead. Its AI successor is called Google Gemini and is based on the AI model of the same name, which the internet giant presented at the beginning of December 2023 in three performance levels: Gemini Nano, Gemini Pro and Gemini Ultra. Gemini Ultra is Google's most powerful AI model and is intended for highly complex tasks.
Google Gemini is now available online free of charge in 40 languages, including German and English. In the USA, Google users can use the Gemini AI in a new Gemini app for Android on smartphones, such as the Google Pixel 8 Pro (buy from Amazon). On the Apple iPhone, Gemini can be used in the Google app for iOS. The free version of Gemini uses the AI model Pro 1.0. If you want even more features and performance, Google offers Gemini Advanced as an AI subscription.
With the paid professional version Gemini Advanced, Google is launching a new AI subscription service in 150 countries, using its currently most powerful AI platform, Gemini Ultra 1.0. Gemini Advanced is already available in Germany, but currently only in English. For the launch of Gemini Advanced in Germany, Google is giving its subscribers the Google One AI Premium subscription for two month with a subscription fee of 43.98 euros. After that, the Google One AI subscription will cost 21.99 euros per month.
In addition, this Google One subscription includes 2 TB of storage space in Google Photos, Gmail, and Google Drive for subscribers and up to 5 other people. According to Google, Gemini for Gmail, Docs, and other tools will be available soon. Moreover, there are further benefits (depending on the country) of Google One Premium such as a 10% refund as Google Store credit when purchasing devices, more functions in Google Meet such as group video calls with a duration of more than 1 hour, as well as more functions in Google Calendar (improved scheduling).
As Sundar Pichai - CEO of Google and Alphabet - reveals in his blog post, Gemini can also be found in other Google products such as Workspace and Google Cloud. Duet AI will become Gemini for Workspace, which will allow customers to use the new AI genius Gemini in Gmail, Docs, Spreadsheets, Presentations and Meet via the Google One AI Premium subscription. Duet AI will also become Gemini for Cloud customers in the coming weeks.
