Garmin delivers new software update to multiple smartwatches

Garmin is rolling out software version 18.14 for the Venu X1 (on Amazon), Vivoactive 6, and Venu 4 (on Amazon). While the update varies by model, the changelog for the Venu X1 is particularly extensive. Although the release does not introduce major new features, it focuses on system stability and quality-of-life improvements.
According to Garmin, numerous bug fixes should noticeably improve the overall user experience. For Venu X1 users, a key change ensures that the touchscreen is now reliably disabled during water-based activities—an important fix for scenarios such as snorkeling, where water contact can trigger unintended inputs. In addition, the smartwatch should no longer crash or restart during indoor climbing or rowing machine workouts.
Garmin has also fixed an issue where volume controls did not work properly when Focus Mode was active. Further refinements address audio behavior: if a Bluetooth headphone connection is lost, playback via the built-in speaker is now temporarily blocked to prevent unwanted audio output. Another fix ensures that alarms remain silent when set to vibration-only mode. Garmin also mentions improvements to Garmin Coach training plans. Version 18.14 is currently available as a beta update and can be requested directly via the watch.
