Gap has released NFTs, which were designed using hoodie art, as part of a digital experience to engage customers in line with modern culture. This customer experience consists of multiple tiers, with the Epic tier created via a partnership with Brandon Sines. The digital art was developed using Tezos blockchain, which Gap endorsed for its environmental friendliness.

Gap has revealed the launch of its NFTs, which are based on hoodie digital art, to capitalize on the NFT trend and appeal to customers of the current technological age. The company is hoping to increase its brand awareness by creating a ‘gamified digital experience’.

Gap is working together with Brandon Sines, who designed the character, Frank Ape. Sines developed a limited edition digital art, which is on the Epic tier. Common and Rare tiers are also available and are required to unlock the Epic tier. Moreover, a physical Gap x Frank Ape hoodie was created by Sines.

To develop this customer experience, Gap employed the use of the Tezos blockchain platform. The company claimed that it is environmentally conscious and chose Tezos due to its low carbon footprint and energy-efficient network. The energy demand of NFTs can be notoriously high and have an impact on climate change; thus, a focus on energy efficiency is welcomed.

Sale of the digital art is available on the Gap Threads website. The Common level is worth 2 tez or approximately US$8.30 each, the Rare level is valued at 6 tez or about US$24.90 each, while the Epic tier is valued at a substantial 100 tez or roughly US$415 each.
