Wild Fields and Hooded Horse have announced a new colony management game called Rogue Carrier, which will be arriving on PC Game Pass on day one.

Microsoft usually announces new Xbox Game Pass additions twice each month, with updates typically arriving at the beginning and middle of the month. However, the service also occasionally receives surprise day-one additions, and the latest one is a newly announced colony management game from Wild Fields and Hooded Horse.

The game is called Rogue Carrier, and it has been confirmed as a day-one PC Game Pass release. It game combines colony management with roguelite progression, placing players in charge of a mobile settlement aboard a massive ocean-faring ship. The developers have not revealed its exact release date yet, as it's currently listed as "Coming Soon."

What does the game offer?

In Rogue Carrier, players lead an interstellar expedition that has gone disastrously wrong. After becoming stranded on an unknown ocean world, everything shifts from scientific exploration to survival and escape. Players must gather essential resources, establish production chains, maintain crew morale, and defend the colony from threats as they search for answers about the hostile planet.

The game’s mobile colony system revolves around building and upgrading the ship. Players can construct farms, housing, factories, solar panels, batteries, and other infrastructure to support their crew. There are more than 80 building options to choose from, with each offering unique layouts and production strategies. The challenging part is that space on the ship is limited, so selecting the right layout is critical.

The game also focuses a lot on exploration, as players can send freighters and recon craft to investigate islands, cities, and other points of interest across the ocean world. Progression is tied to objectives, side quests, and technological research, allowing players to unlock new buildings, resources, and abilities. The choices made during each run influence what options become available, giving the game a strong replayable roguelite structure.

Another interesting feature is how the world reacts to the player’s actions. If you expand aggressively or damage the ecosystem, you can trigger harsh weather, stronger wildlife attacks, and more. In other words, you’ll need to be careful with each step and progress slowly instead of rushing everything.
