GMKtec has introduced a new affordable mini PC in the global market, the NucBox M7 Ultra. It comes with the Ryzen 7 6850U, a Zen 3+ processor from the Rembrandt generation, which features the Radeon 680M. This iGPU comes with 12 CUs, and while it's based on the RDNA 2 architecture, it can smoothly handle a handful of games.
To be specific, the Radeon 680M can run a good number of old AAA games at 720p to 1080p resolution with low visual settings. For those who prefer having more GPU power, the new GMK mini PC comes with an OCuLink port, making the mini PC compatible with high-performance eGPUs and external graphics card docks.
The GMK M7 Ultra also has two USB4 ports, expanding eGPU compatibility even further (GMKtec AD-GP1 curr. $499.99 on Amazon). These two also allow users to pair high-speed accessories with the mini PC. As for the other ports, they are as follows:
- 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- 1x 3.5 mm audio
- 1x HDMI 2.1
- 1x DisplayPort 2.0
- 2x 2.5G Ethernet
Thanks to the HDMI, DisplayPort, and two USB4 ports, the mini PC has support for quad-display output. GMKtec also notes that the M7 Ultra comes with an advanced cooling setup capable of keeping the internals cool during heavy loads without being noisy. The company claims that the operating noise doesn't exceed 38 dB.
Among the other notable features are support for 64 GB of DDR5 RAM, two PCIe M.2 slots with support for an 8 TB SSD each, WiFi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2. As for the price, the barebone configuration costs $309.99, while the mid-range config with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage is going for $369.99. As for the top-end config, it has 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD, and it costs $429.99. They are all available on the official store.
