Fresh batch of Steam free games arrives with several well-rated picks

A handful of newly added free games were spotted on Steam before August 2026 ended, and now that September is here, another free game batch has surfaced. This one, however, doesn't have as many top-rated freebies as the last one, but there are some that do seem worth playing.
Specifically, these newly spotted free games on Steam were mostly launched in late August, and in these few days, a couple of them have already received good overall player ratings. Here are some examples:
- Bomb Farm - an idle RPG with tradeable items and a player-driven economy. It was launched on August 29, and so far, there are over 500 reviews, of which 76% are positive.
- Poncik's Little Tragedy - a casual adventure game that's heavy on exploration and is full of puzzles. This free game was released on Steam on August 26, and it currently boasts an 89% positive player rating.
- Car D Game - a racing game that blends roguelike deckbuilding with car modification. It was released on August 29, and currently, it sports an 85% positive rating.
- Lost Light - released on August 29, this is a casual platformer with full controller support (GameSir Nova Lite 2 curr. $25.99 on Amazon). It currently boasts a 100% positive rating that's based on 21 reviews.
- Solipsistic - a psychological horror that lets players manipulate the actual files of the games to solve puzzles. This story-rich free game was released on August 28, and it currently holds a 100% positive rating.
- Crawler - designed to be played with a VR, this is a mech horde shooter with support for online co-op. This fun-filled action freebie has over 20 reviews, among which 91% are positive.
- Fall Queen - a 2D precision 2D platformer with proper controller support and an interesting storyline. This free game was launched on August 17, and it now has an 86% positive rating.
- Battle Ranker in Another World - an auto battler with RPG mechanics and a deep storyline. This Steam free game has a 70% positive rating that's based on 24 reviews.
