Figure’s humanoid robot is going beyond factory work and moving onto house chores. The company has released a new video that shows its robot handling household chores.

Figure is a US-based robot maker based in California. Its Figure 03 humanoid, powered by its proprietary Helix 02 vision-language-action AI, was recorded autonomously performing typical house chores. The robot gathered scattered toys, rearranged the couch cushions, and polished the furniture in the living room.

Interestingly, the bipedal robot completed the tasks at a human pace. While the speed may look ‘unnatural’ for robots, it suggests the humanoid can clean the house without making much noise.

According to Figure, the Helix 02 can interpret instructions and interact with real-world environments. The company claims Figure 03 is capable of figuring out new tasks it was not previously trained for.

Tidying a living room might seem like a small task to a human. However, robots are usually deployed in structured environments like warehouses or factories, but homes constantly change. Objects in the home tend to be scattered unpredictably, creating narrow navigation spaces. In addition, softer items such as pillows or towels behave differently when manipulated.

All these create unique chaos for the robot, but Figure 03 seemed to handle it well. It demonstrated that it can perform some tasks with both hands while moving around the room. However, while the demo is impressive, Figure has not claimed that the robot is ready to ship.

Meanwhile, competition in the robotics sector is heating up. Honor showcased a dancing robot at the 2026 Mobile World Congress. XPeng had to strip down its own model to convince people it was not an actor in a costume. Away from entertainment, Samsung has revealed plans to introduce humanoids into its manufacturing operations.
