Deal | FIIL CC2 Bluetooth 5.2 earbuds now on sale for $49 USD with built-in microphone and fast 1-second pairing time

Amazon is currently offering the FIIL CC2 wireless earbuds for $20 USD off the initial price of $69. The earbuds are notable for their Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity whereas most other earbuds are still using 5.0 or older. Bluetooth 5.2 carries improved power management over older versions.

FIIL sent us a pair for our impressions. After using them for several days, we can comfortably say that the CC2 earbuds are simple to use but with a few caveats. Firstly, while the earbuds themselves are easy to take out of their charging case, trying to put them back in can be finicky. We oftentimes found ourselves putting the left or right earbud onto the incorrect side or rotating them incorrectly. It's not as obvious when reinserting them when compared to other earbuds like the Anker Soundcore.

Our second major criticism involves the touch controls on the earbuds. Tapping twice will pause/play the current selection while holding it will initiate voice assistance (microphone mode) or reject an incoming call. Like with most touch controls on earbuds, the ones here on the FIIL don't always work when you want them to. The accompanying FIIL smartphone app makes controlling the earbuds much easier, but it's also a hassle to whip out your smartphone just to pause, play, or control the volume of the earbuds.

Our last complaint deals with the comfort of the earbuds themselves as they are hard plastic without any rubber fitting domes. They can therefore be a bit tight in the ears if wearing them for extended periods.

Build quality is otherwise excellent with the smooth matte finish that should detract scratches and fingerprints much better than the typical glossy charging cases.
