Every tablet should come with this versatile stand

Cell phone and tablet cases with circular stands have been around for a while; we’ve already tested a few of them and have always been impressed by how much more flexible this design is compared to a flat stand. 

Built-in stand impresses

That’s why we were pleasantly surprised by the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 (around US$ 470 on amazon.com): The tablet has this exact stand design built right in, so you don’t have to buy a separate case. 

Specifically, the stand consists of a flat aluminum ring that folds out from the back. The hinge can also rotate on its own axis, allowing you to adjust the ring’s position.

This gives the round stand even more flexibility and allows you to securely prop up the tablet either in portrait or landscape orientation. The hinge provides enough resistance so that you can tilt the tablet to many different angles—for example, for more comfortable typing.

Can even be used as wall decor

Since the ring extends beyond the tablet when folded all the way back, you can even hang it on a hook on the wall and use it as a digital picture frame, a display board, or a control center for your smart home.

The build quality, sturdiness, and hinge are excellent, giving you a consistently secure and reliable feel.

But the stand isn’t the only highlight the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 has to offer: Thanks to extremely long battery life—nearly 29 hours in our Wi-Fi test—you can use the tablet in any position for several days without having to constantly plug it in. Thanks to a maximum charging power of 45 watts, the 10,200 mAh battery is fully charged again in about 3 hours.

And, of course, there’s also the outstanding sound system with nine speakers, optimized by JBL and supporting Dolby Atmos, i.e., virtual surround sound.
