Archive.org versionThe Doogee S96 Pro packs a unique feature set into a rugged and durable design for under $400. However, the poor quality display and buggy camera app highlight the device's drawbacks. Whether or not the device is suited for you comes down to your specific use case. If you're looking for a long-lasting, rugged phone that will perform day-to-day tasks fine, then the S96 Pro is a no-brainer.

Archive.org versionThe Doogee S96 Pro delivers value-for-money in spades thanks to a very attractive price point, a unique night vision camera and a balanced mix of fast storage, ample system memory and a practical, solid design. The only sore point is the low resolution but that is unlikely to be an issue for the target audience.

Archive.org versionWe’ve reviewed our fair share of smartphones through more than a decade, most of them conventional while a few outliers to end up in our hands from time to time. Although by no means unusual or rare, rugged smartphones aren’t exactly a staple in the consumer market, often reserved for industrial customers, nor do they often spark curiosity beyond their thick, rugged frames. Some do try to stand out from the crowd with some extra feature or utility. The new Doogee S96 Pro definitely fits that bill and we give it a hard look to see there’s more to it than meets the eye.
