Doogee S60
The Doogee S60 is a solid-looking beast of a phone. Large, heavy, rugged, and sturdy, it looks like it will stand up to the toughest handling. More and more smartphone manufacturers are jumping on the rugged device bandwagon, which is not surprising since competition in this arena is still sparse, while profit margins are healthy, given the higher retail prices these handsets usually carry. The S60 is available in black, gold or silver, and the manufacturer even came up with special ‘Game of Thrones Edition’ versions. Like many of their competitors, the (Spanish) designers opted for the classic octagonal chassis (four slanted corners and four long sides) usually associated with ruggedized smartphones. At 285g, the S60 is one of the heaviest smartphones, almost twice the weight of an Apple iPhone 8. Its dimensions of 163 x 83 x 17mm are also well above average. Doogee seems to heavily focus on the latter, using a combination of metal (aerospace-grade aluminium) and high-density polycarbonate plastic rather than rubber to increase this device’s resistance to shocks and bumps, earning it a well-deserved IP68 certification. The screen, a 5.2-inch Full-HD IPS display, is covered by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 overlay, which should protect it from scratches. The IPS display boasts great color reproduction that should cater to most tastes and it looks brilliant even outside, where the S60 is expected to be used most often.
There seems to be an oleophobic coating as well, as the screen is noticeably less prone to fingerprint smudges compared to competitors. The fingerprint reader is located on the back, alongside the camera sensor, the speaker, and dual LED. The SIM and microSD slot are positioned underneath a metal cover. Doogee did not skimp on the components for the S60: This flagship smartphone received best-of-breed hardware (well, almost). It packs one of the most powerful SoCs available outside of Qualcomm’s stable: the MediaTek Helio P25, which is backed with 6GB of premium LPDDR4 memory and 64GB of Samsung-sourced flash memory for storage. The camera sensors are Samsung and Sony-sourced as well. The rear 21-megapixel model can only record in Full HD, despite the Mediatek P25 CPU supporting 4K. The S60 is unique amongst rugged smartphones, as it bundles both NFC and wireless charging, potentially allowing users to bypass the onboard physical ports completely. The S60 runs on Android 7.0, as expected, and does not have many extra bundled apps. One of the included applications is Zello, a walkie-talkie/push-to-talk solution that works particularly well for teams. There is also DGXender, a nifty solution for transferring files between compatible devices. The most compelling app is the aptly named Toolbox, consisting of tools that use the host of sensors on the S60 to deliver the sort of functionality an outdoor professional (working in the field or on a construction site) might expect.

Putting aside the utilitarian design and the silly-sounding brand name, the S60 is a superb rugged smartphone with a seriously tempting price tag. Its wireless charging capability, beefy battery capacity and a raft of bundled utilities make this phone an excellent all-rounder.

All in all, I was very impressed with the Doogee S60 when I road tested it last year. The streamlined S50, for its nicer form factor, facial unlocking, and easy SIM insertion, is a better piece of hardware -- despite the lack of toolbox apps in this build.

With its bulky aluminum case, the Doogee S55 promises to be an ultimate outdoor smartphone. We clarify in our test, whether the Chinese smartphone with its 5500-mAh battery can offer more than just a long battery life and a sturdy design.
Source: Igeekphone

The Doogee S55 is slimmer and more compact despite a slightly larger display. However, this is at the expense of the battery life. The 4/64 GB memory will probably welcome everyone and the well-functioning fingerprint sensor are great additions. The camera has also gotten a little better. In terms of system performance, the differences are marginal and can be neglected.

The Doogee S80 is a niche smartphone for people who want and need specific things. Such as long battery life and resistance features. And while indeed, there’s a demand for such things on the market, we’re inclined to think most users will still prefer and opt for the now classic sleek smartphone instead of bulkier options like the S80, despite the benefits.

US buyers might proceed with caution as network compatibility isn’t guaranteed for your carrier. While it does support many 4G bands, it may not provide you with all of those offered by your current provider.

Potentially one of the first 5G rugged phones, and the first to feature a modular design, the Doogee S90 is certainly interesting. It offers very good value for money and a decent mid-range spec, and it's as tough as phones come in 2019. But the mods are not as exciting as we had hoped, and the S90 itself is rather big and bulky.

The Doogee S40 is unlocked and does have select band support for T-Mobile and AT&T. Similarly, it should work for Cricket, Metro, and the other MVNO brands. It’s more geared to European markets, though, and we caution against recommending it for US buyers. Occasionally we’ll suggest a phone for Wi-Fi or hotspots for people looking to buy something for their kids. Would we recommend this for someone who has young users in the house or accident prone children? Probably not in the US.

The Doogee is, in many ways, a real throwback device. It has a poor screen, weak processor and terrible camera, bringing back bad memories of the days when budget Android phones simply weren’t worth bothering with. However, at £100 it does have a place in the market, because it’s perhaps the most rugged Android phone you can buy in this price range right now. If you’re on a tight budget and need a phone that will withstand some punishment then the S40 is worth a look, but you’d be better off investing a little more cash and getting the Doogee S90 or AGM A9.

When it comes to hardware, the Doogee S95 Pro follows its predecessor, the S90, and plays in the upper mid-range or lower end of the high-tier. On paper it ticks many of the boxes that we look for in a “flagship” model, but it’s price is a fraction of what others might charge.

The Doogee S95 Pro is currently on sale for US$369.99 as a standalone phone with free Dopods earbuds for the next thousand or so phone buyers. Adding the modular speaker and battery extender units as a package brings the price up to US$469.99. It's a nice and neat little package, but for a hundred bucks you can pick up a pretty decent Bluetooth speaker and powerbank you can use with other devices too, so I'd be figuring that in.

Over the years, as smartphone manufacturing technology advances, most brands attempt to push the limits of design and functionality. While the caveat is that this results in more expensive flagship models, there are some companies that manage to deliver an affordable yet feature-packed device. One example is Pocophone F1 from Xiaomi subsidiary label POCO -- a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-armed entry-level handset released in 2018. Meanwhile, Samsung and Motorola are pushing for foldable display tech. Now, the DOOGEE S88 Pro brings outstanding battery life to the table.

Whether or not the device is suited for you comes down to your specific use case. If you're looking for a long-lasting, rugged phone that will perform day-to-day tasks fine, then the S96 Pro is a no-brainer.

The Doogee S96 Pro delivers value-for-money in spades thanks to a very attractive price point, a unique night vision camera and a balanced mix of fast storage, ample system memory and a practical, solid design. The only sore point is the low resolution but that is unlikely to be an issue for the target audience.

We’ve reviewed our fair share of smartphones through more than a decade, most of them conventional while a few outliers to end up in our hands from time to time. Although by no means unusual or rare, rugged smartphones aren’t exactly a staple in the consumer market, often reserved for industrial customers, nor do they often spark curiosity beyond their thick, rugged frames. Some do try to stand out from the crowd with some extra feature or utility. The new Doogee S96 Pro definitely fits that bill and we give it a hard look to see there’s more to it than meets the eye.

Despite the problems in the software and the fact that the quad-cameras are really going to leave you using only one, the Doogee S86 impressed us. It’s not often that a phone with a battery that can last up to four days with regular usage crosses our desk. Let alone one that combines unheard-of battery life with some of the best-rugged abilities in a smartphone today. Plus, for less than $300, you really can’t expect this to blow you away in any other manner. If you need a smartphone to take with you to the job site while lasting at least a few days, the Doogee S86 at $270 is arguably the best option. There’s really not anything else to consider at this price point, and it will serve its purpose of being a more basic smartphone.

If you ask me if the Doogee S97 Pro smartphone is worth buying or you can recommend, my answer is definitely yes, and this is due to the experience that it will give you that it is a mid-range smartphone, I think S97 Pro is good Rugged smartphones in 2021 with a stylish design and decent specifications in terms of the screen, cameras, and even the battery is very good, And all this does not mean that it is flawless because cannot watch Netflix in HD resolution. however, the Doogee S97 Pro will not disappoint you.

If you are looking for a basic android phone that can be used when wearing gloves, take a bashing, and has a huge battery life, then the S97 pro might be for you - just maybe make sure it gets its own pocket. You'll get a lot of fun out of the macro lens too, and the distance measurement tool has some use in getting ballpark figures. If you are hoping this phone will act as a useful tool, probably not. The idea behind it is great - a phone that can not only survive harsh working environments but has actual utility as a tool within them. Unfortunately, if you already work in those environments you are likely to trust things like accurate measurement and toxic substance detection to industry-standard tools rather than a budget rugged smartphone. For most everyday users, this would be forgivable if you just treat the S97 Pro as a large form factor rugged phone with a big battery life. Unfortunately, the combination of the weak side buttons, average main camera, and shoddy connectivity make it less than ideal for the average user too.

For $399, the Doogee S97 Pro offers a great value proposition compared to many more expensive competitors such as the Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro ($499), the Ulefone Armor 11 ($580), and the Kyocera Duraforce Ultra ($899). The Doogee S97 Pro’s biggest competition comes from the indomitable yet slightly more expensive Cat S62 Pro ($649) and, for those that prefer a more slender device, the Nokia XR20 ($549). There’s also a curveball option — its predecessor, the Doogee S96 Pro ($389). It’s still a great budget rugged phone with a cheaper price tag and, for those that want it, a night vision camera. Then again, the S96 Pro doesn’t have as large of a battery and has some quality control issues that might scare away some buyers. Not every rugged phone will stand harsh environmental conditions or last for multiple days on a single charge, but the S97 Pro won’t have trouble with either. Because of its rubber and metal design, in addition to its laser rangefinder, the Doogee S97 Pro is a solid companion for anyone working in harsher climates.

So, Doogee has done a pretty good job with this rugged smartphone. If your work demands measuring a lot of stuff, requires the best available ingress protection and has impressive battery life, then this phone will suit your needs. However, its low screen resolution and its bulk prevents this from becoming a device you can use in and out of the field. So, if you’re one of those who work in the field and need a tough Android that can cope with extremes, this phone can be a good investment. The Doogee S97 Pro is officially priced at USD 399.99 but you can get this through Lazada and Shopee resellers for around 13,000 to 15,000 pesos.

The Doogee S97 Pro comes with an interesting feature - a laser rangefinder - but not one that will be a deal maker or breaker. Without it, the S97 Pro is a midrange, run-of-the-mill rugged handset that hits the right notes as long as you don’t care about the HD+ display.

If you look hard enough for in Chinese stores, you will find this smartphone for the price of about $ 385. Is it worth it? If you need a tough guy and you feel that this dark-seeing camera can be useful to you, it will definitely not be a bad buy. Maybe you will be a bit disappointed with the display, photographic possibilities or sound, but the rest is quite functional. The only thing left to hope is that the manufacturer will add some extra features to this round screen by updating it. Let me tell you one thing - bringing such an exotic smartphone from China with an unusual design is a really interesting experience. If you have some time and unnecessary money, I heartily recommend you Doogee S98 as a technological springboard from our ordinary European world.

So the exotic smartphone turned out to be not so scary. I would even risk saying that the manufacturer has tried a bit to tailor this smartphone to our European tastes. He cleaned the software from unnecessary rubbish, prepared a quite aesthetic and carefully refined set, packed everything together very nicely and avoided glaring errors in the interface translation. Absolutely, if you need a rugged smartphone. The S98 is a rugged smartphone with plenty to shout about, aside from all the features you’d expect from your regular flimsy smartphone. With the ability to take shots at night, and the chops to withstand a wide range of conditions, this is a great handset for the outdoor-based smartphone user. Highly recommended.

Doogee delivered a safe product with the S98 and the jury is still out as to the usefulness of a dual screen of that size on a rugged smartphone. On the other hand, it is a stupidly cheap, fast smartphone that packs more memory and storage than anything at this price point. So you may consider the secondary display to be an added free bonus.

In short, the Doogee S98 smartphone looks like it’s built to be durable in every inch. It offers average performance unless you are looking for a high-end gaming experience. The camera array on the back is of very good quality for a mid-range smartphone. More disappointing is the lack of L1 DRM support for HD streaming like Netflix, especially with the great screen, but it’s fun to watch HDR content on YouTube at FHD, and that’s not forgotten by the good battery and fast and wireless charging, and if you wonder about the rear display, it does not give the phone any exceptional feature more than an aesthetic appearance. However, I think the S98 is one of the best-rugged smartphones in 2022.

Doogee’s S98 Pro is an excellent option for anyone looking for a phone that’s tough enough to withstand water, dust, and anything else thrown at it (maybe even explosions), but it’s also much more than that. It’s a great Android 12 device with some very cool cameras, impressive battery life, and a bright display, and it’s easy to recommend at this price point – as long as you don’t need 5G.

Doogee itself says that the phone has an 18-day standby. I guess maybe in Airplane mode this would be possible, however, I did not test this. It also claims 10-hour use for constant video viewing or gaming, and 28 hours of talk time. For me, I am just happy that it can get through almost three days of normal use without needing a charger. The Easy key allowed me to map the Camera to it, so we can forgive the lack of a dedicated camera button in this case. Like I said earlier, this phone is mostly for a specific use case. I would recommend it to construction workers who find it important to have a smartphone on hand, they can toss it around and rinse it under the tap and it will still keep working. However, it is a shame that Doogee makes such a product and then will only back it with support for one year. At $399, it's a good buy, but not for the touted $599.99 MSRP. Maybe Doogee would be able to offer a better experience if it settled for a mid-range camera experience and with a higher-end SoC and display, but that's wishful thinking.

Now for the verdict. The DooGee S89 Pro checks all the boxes of being a rugged smartphone. Though some compromises are here and there. Casual users like me might find this device unfit literally in our pockets and in our tastes, but its toughness and menacing aesthetics will cater to specific consumers who might be always out for an adventure to the extreme, or for those working in the construction industry and the likes. Priced at only under Php 16,000, this is definitely for those people who don’t want an expensive yet fragile phone and just want a daily driver that is sustainable and can endure anything you throw at it.

You will either love or hate the styling, but the basic phone technology here is solid. Plenty of RAM, storage and battery capacity advantages are offset by a questionable GPU and the sheer bulk of this construct. Not the most elegant phone Doogee has ever made.

On the outside, the Doogee S89 Pro lives up to its appearance, offering a rugged and protective design with tough materials, while keeping a few tricks up its sleeve, such as a massive battery, a decent display, and surprisingly pleasant camera performance. It’s priced to compete in the budget to mid-range tier at around $359, and for that price you don’t get a lot of other rugged Android devices on the market. For people after a utility device that they can bring along on outdoor trips and excursions, or simply want a tough Android phone that will last a fair number of years, then the Doogee S89 Pro is an ideal choice.

To me, the Doogee S89 Pro is an interesting device. It starts with a fairly decent set of specifications, expanding upon that with the hardcore rugged design and added "armor" found inside the box. If only there were certain other accessories in the box... I actually really enjoyed testing the Doogee S89 Pro, and the ruggedness is a big part of that. I mean really, who wouldn't have fun dropping a phone to see if it breaks over and over again. Checking if it floats? Again, more fun. The wanna-be Batman aesthetic equally so. Even the size and weight, although a bit goofy in 2022, is kind of cute and laughable. It not every phone that claims to be as rugged and durable as this S89 Pro does, and the huge 12000 mAh battery really pushes that rugged versatility to the limit and back. It's rare to be able to venture on a multi-day outdoor experience, and expect to have battery to spare at the end of the fun... but with the Doogee S89 Pro's huge battery capacity, that does hold true. I think that during my 30-day evaluation period I charged this phone just three times, and that is after lots of benchmarking, gaming, and photography. I did find the audio to be a bit lacking, as was the 3D gaming performance, but each was suitable enough, given the price.

DOOGEE S Punk is the perfect choice for those seeking an affordable, rugged, and durable device without extravagant ambitions. It features modern internals, a vibrant display, and high reliability, making it an attractive option for a wide range of users. It can comfortably compete with other rugged devices like the UleFone Armor X13, OUKITEL WP23 Pro, Hotwav Cyber X, and Blackview BV8900 Pro in terms of durability. Yes, of course, like all phones, this device has its advantages and disadvantages, but I hope that after my review it will be easier for you to make your choice. Remember that this is just my opinion, and individual preferences may vary. As a result, we have a good, but not very remarkable device - DOOGEE S Punk, which has many similar parameters. What makes it stand out is its huge battery, powerful speaker, and military-grade security - all at a more than reasonable price.

I've spent well over a month using the Doogee S200 now and it’s clear this is a device attempting to offer the full package at a reasonable price, and it almost achieves it. Let's not forget that this rugged smartphone has a very specific target market in mind, designed for those who work outdoors, in construction, enjoy camping, or have specific interests that benefit from features like a night vision camera for wildlife watching or caving, plus the waterproof camera for snorkelling or fishing. It's obvious that this kind of smartphone would certainly be appealing to photographers, but I think it misses the mark ever so slightly with its camera quality falling behind. If you're after one of the best Android cameras for photography, then you might be better off with some alternatives.

If you are on the hunt of finding a decent rugged phone under $400, the Doogee S200X and S200 would be a remarkable choice. There’s no doubt that Doogee sticks with its formula of producing a durable and reliable phone without skipping the necessary features. Both devices provide ample support during harsh weather and offer a relatively clean software experience. As for the performance aspect, the mid-range chipset and more than enough RAM render a smooth response. However, the camera department is something that could have improved to a certain extent, especially the dynamic range and lowlight. Yet, the battery department didn’t disappoint with a massive cell capacity. Long story short, both phones excel when it comes to ruggedness and affordability.

The Doogee S200 is, very literally, a solid smartphone, built for rugged use. True, the specs aren’t the toughest and hardiest out there - and for genuinely hostile environments, I’d think twice about taking it on the job. However, for general use on worksites, or hiking and camping, the S200 is more than robust enough. Yes, it’s big and heavy - that’s part of its charm, alongside the cyber-futuristic mecha-style design, its sliced corners and exposed rivets on the side. If you want a phone that’s durable, built to go up against the elements, and still looks great doing it, there’s a lot to recommend here.

A good phone that can withstand most of the abuse thrown at it, a genuine 2-day battery life, if not more, an above average camera for the most part and only lacking in areas that would have benefited greatly, such as not having wireless charging, or a true fast wired charging standard, as 33W will still take hours to fully charge a 10,100mAh battery. I can recomend the S200 but that recommendation comes with some caveats. If you intend to keep the phone for a few years then you'd need to bear in mind future updates after the first year will likely not happen. On top of that the camera and LCD panels won't be competing with even midrange phones from bigger brands like Samsung, Sony or Google. Even Xiaomi and OPPO have higher camera quality and performance. But at this price point, the S200 offers enough to hold interest I think, and for that reason it is a very good phone for its intended purpose, without going too extreme.

I really like the Doogee S200, especially with its current $339 price tag. It's a rarity in that it's a ruggedized smartphone that is stylish enough not to look out of place in the office or at a restaurant. Don't let the looks fool you; this is a smartphone that can take a beating, has a battery that laughs in the face of an iPhone, and an array of cameras to suit the most avid of snappers. The display is excellent, unlike the usual old-school blocky type that you find on many rugged smartphones. Even though I have an iPhone as my daily driver, this display feels nice and comfortable on my eyes. If you want a rugged smartphone that won't look too out of place in civilization and won't weigh down your pockets, the Doogee S200 is a great choice.

Considering the price, it feels uncharitable to mention that it lacks wireless charging and only comes with 12GB of RAM. Those limitations aside, the performance of the S200 goes way beyond what any rugged phone offered only a couple of years ago. The similarities between this design and the much more expensive Doogee DK10 are striking. The 100MP primary camera sensor isn't the best available, but it can still take reasonable photographs across a wide range of lighting conditions, including night, and has a good selection of shooting modes. Unless you want top-quality captures, the S200 could be the perfect rugged phone to take on holiday or onto a construction site.
