Don't count HTC out yet; still hard at work on future products: Exec
It's been a while since HTC has been a big name in the smartphone market, despite making very solid handsets throughout the years. Even with the release of the Vive, HTC has been posting losses over a hundred million per quarter. That makes 5 quarters of steep decline in a row, by Engadget's math. However, don't count HTC out yet—Senior HTC Manager Jeff Gordon recently tweeted that HTC is still "working hard on future flagship smartphones and Vives".
If a "leak" posted on Weibo by a Chinese user going by the name "Digital Cat" is true, the HTC 11 would be quite a flagship indeed. If his post is to believed, the HTC 11 would have a 5.5" 2K screen (exact resolution unclear), and be powered by a Snapdragon 835 along with 8 GB of ram, 256 GB of storage, and a large 3700 mA battery. The renders appear to show a device with a bezel-less display akin to the rumored Galaxy S8's, as well. Whether the alleged leak is real or not, one thing is certain: HTC needs a big winner to turn things around.
