Dell releases new mini-PC globally with 1 GbE Optical Fiber

Dell has returned to its Thin Client division with the Pro Micro Thin Client Q9M1260. A less powerful alternative to the QCM1250 (curr. $849 on Amazon), the Q9M1260 swaps Intel Arrow Lake for Intel Twin Lake processors with up to 7 W TDPs. To that end, Dell's new Thin Client relies upon passive cooling rather than active cooling.
Additionally, Dell includes an M.2 2230 slot for PCIe Gen 3 or UFS 2.1 storage plus a second M.2 2230 slot for Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 cards within a 182 x 178 x 36 mm housing. Moreover, the Q9M1260 can be configured with one of seven optional port modules up to and including 1 GbE Optical Fiber. For reference, Dell's new Thin Client runs off a 65 W USB Type-C port rather than a DC power connector.
The Pro Micro Thin Client starts with a Processor N150 and 8 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM. While Dell also offers 16 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM, both variants run in single-channel mode. The Pro Micro can be configured with the Processor N250 or Core 3 N350 too, of which the Core 3 N350 is by far the most powerful, thanks to having twice as many Gracemont E-Cores as the Processor N150 and Processor N250.
Currently, the Pro Micro Thin Client costs between $966 and $1,748 in the US before adding a mouse or keyboard. Meanwhile, Dell's new Thin Client starts at £646 in the UK, CAD 2,147 in Canada and as little as €731 in the Eurozone. Please see Dell's website for more details.
