Dell XPS 13 9305 with Core i5-1135G7 to be available in China later this month ↺
Dell announced the XPS 13 9310 and the corresponding Developer Edition powered by Intel Tiger Lake processors back in September last year, and we've had the chance to take both the Core i7-1185G7-powered 4K and the Core i7-1165G7-powered FHD versions for a spin. Now, it looks like Dell may have another XPS 13 available, but this SKU seems to be limited to China at the moment.
MyLaptopGuide reports (via ITHome and JD.com) that a Dell XPS 13 9305 is now available in China starting from ¥7,999 (US$1,238) for the Core i5-1135G7 Tiger Lake CPU, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD, and a 52 WHr battery. MyLaptopGuide also shows a screenshot from JD.com indicating a Core i7 option as well, but that listing does not appear on the Chinese shopping site at the moment. Like the 9310, the 9305 is also an Intel Evo-certified laptop.
The new XPS 13 9305 offers an FHD 16:9 display that offers 100% sRGB gamut coverage, 400 nits brightness, and a 1500:1 contrast ratio. The XPS 13 9310, on the other hand, offers both FHD and UHD variants with 100% sRGB coverage and 500 nits brightness. While the XPS 13 9310 offers touch display options, there is no such spec indicated for the 9305 SKU. Also, the XPS 13 9305 seems to be about 40 g lighter than the 9310 variant.
It is not clear whether the XPS 13 9305 is restricted to the Chinese market or will see a global rollout as well. A similarly configured XPS 13 9310 comes to US$1,200, which is more or less what the 9305 is retailing for (comparing with direct conversion prices). In any case, the XPS 13 9305 is expected to be available in China from February 27.
