Reviews for the Dell G15 5530
The Dell G15 5530 now offers Intel Raptor Lake-HX options and positions itself as a capable upper mid-range gaming laptop. While the Core i7-13650HX and RTX 4060 combo augurs well for 1080p Ultra gaming, the G15 5530 has to contend with several compromises in order to keep the price competitive and distinguish itself from its premium Alienware brethren.

Not all gaming laptops are built the same. Some are portable, others are powerhouses for productivity and gaming, and some are good at everything, especially gaming. Then there are laptops like the G15, which seems to be good for gaming only. It's much too big, too noisy, and too flimsy to lug around for work — its display doesn't make it ideal for video editing, the offset keyboard makes typing awkward, and the battery life is disappointing. If you're the type of person who wants to use this as their everyday laptop, there are many issues you'll have to overlook to enjoy this laptop and feel like you made a good purchase. The Razer Blade 14, for example, is more expensive, but it has a nicer display, more unique features, and similar gaming performance that is all enwrapped in a portable and sturdy metal case.

The base model of the Dell G15 has immediate appeal for bargain hunters, and its specs may satisfy casual gamers, though again we'd urge the step up to the $799.99 configuration. Its GeForce RTX 3050 is still capable enough for 1080p gaming, though it's on the bottom rung of the last generation, which won't leave you in the best place long term. For anyone looking for a more potent yet still budget-friendly option, however, this laptop is shockingly limited in its configuration options. The next CPU, GPU, and storage options are tied together, making the G15 leap from $800 to $1,500-plus if you want more power. The resulting performance is admirable, but you can find better options for less, led by the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8.

The G15 is a good balance of price versus performance: it has enough gaming and processor performance to manage modern games but without the wallet-busting expense of its cousins like the Alienware M18. You get excellent gaming performance for the price, plenty of storage space, and a fast processor. What you don’t get is much in the way of expandability: the configurable memory maxes out at 16GB, the SSD storage at 1TB, although both can be expanded with an aftermarket upgrade. Oh, and the keyboard really isn't great, plus the design feels a little clumsy. None of that is likely to be a problem for most gamers, though: the Dell G15 is more than adequate for modern games – easily hitting the 165fps of this Full HD display in many cases – and therefore represents excellent value for money in a market where the competition often costs much, much more.

From the funkier design to the best-in-class CPU and GPU performance, the Dell G15 5530 is not just for gamers. In fact, this CPU-bound machine could also be used by content creators for tasks like video rendering, 3D visualization, and more. Overall, as a package, Dell has produced an excellent mid-range gaming laptop in the form of a G15 5530. Apart from performance, the catchy design also makes it one of the best mid-range gaming laptops around Rs 1,50,000 price mark in India.

15.60":
15-inch display variants are the standard and are used for more than half of all laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.

With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.

76.05%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
