Another good note about the G15 is that it has lost some weight – 200 to 300 grams, depending on the configuration. Still, we find the laptop a bit heavier than its competitors, and its 6-hour battery life is not a title-grabber either. In our view, you have to think twice before getting this specific device. You will make your life easier going for the Legion 5 (15″, 2022) – AMD or Intel version. Of course, if you score a deal on the G15 5520, you shouldn’t refrain. This is not a bad notebook.

For the G15 5530, Dell is going against the trend of slimming down devices and has given the 15-inch laptop a fairly bulky and heavy chassis. We compared the G15 with other RTX 4050 gaming laptops to find out whether the €1,000 (US$1,090) model is worth the money.

Once again, Dell has produced a controversial gaming laptop. Is it because it doesn’t want to take the storm away from its Alienware brand, which itself is being overshadowed by the ROG and Predator series of ASUS and Acer in terms of popularity? Nevertheless, the G15 5530 is not that bad of an option, if you are looking for a relatively affordable piece of gaming machinery. Let’s start by saying that it lacks a Thunderbolt 4 port and an SD card reader. This, and the all-plastic body is what makes it less expensive. In addition to that, Dell has equipped the laptop with an office keyboard – unlike its more premium G16 7630, which sports a pretty good gaming unit. You know, to take advantage of the fast-paced G-Sync-enabled displays, you need good hardware.
