DVX unveils the Night Storm X1 smart binoculars with a 52 MP night vision camera
DVX has presented its latest smart binoculars, the Night Storm X1. The X1 is equipped with a 52 MP f/1.4 Sony CMOS sensor based on Sony’s Starvis 2 tech. It’s rated to get a resolution of up to 4K out of its Sony Starvis 2 sensor, which is touted to capture clear and detailed footage in any lighting conditions.
The gadget has a 3-inch LCD display with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels, which allows users to watch real-time views of photos and video recordings. You can control the exposure for better output, ranging from +3 to -3. As for brightness, the X1 has eight brightness settings, which users can adjust depending on the lighting conditions.
The night vision binoculars provide visibility up to 1,200 meters, and the company claims that they can offer visibility even in total darkness. It has a 4-level 850 nm IR LED illuminator and 8X digital zoom for viewing distant objects. However, the company hasn’t specified the viewing distance. The camera sensor can also be used to capture high-resolution photos alongside 4K videos.
The Night Storm X1 is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery and provides up to 18 hours of operating time (with IR off) on a single charge. DVX also offers a dedicated companion app for the binoculars, which enables a range of functions such as real-time previewing, taking photos, recording videos, and downloading captured content.
Other features include an IP65 water and dust resistance rating, Wi-Fi connectivity, a viewfinder, a built-in tactical light, and multi-mode (day, twilight, and night) support. Last but not least, the X1 measures 154 x 229 x 68 mm and weighs 750 grams (1.65 lbs).
The DVX Night Storm X1 is now available on Kickstarter at a special introductory price of $139. Head over to the official product page for more details.
