The tri-motor Cybertruck Cyberbeast can outrun a Porsche 911 in the quarter-mile acceleration test while towing another Porsche 911. Elon Musk demonstrated how it beats the Ford F-350 diesel in the infamous truck pull test as well.

Before Elon Musk started delivering the keys of the first Cybertruck retail units to their happy owners at the Giga Texas launch event, he didn't miss bragging about its acceleration and tow capabilities.

Cybertruck vs Ford-F150 vs Ford F-350 diesel tow test

First in line was the popular truck pull test and Elon Musk said that Tesla asked what's been the most powerful pickup truck in that respect, getting the diesel Ford F-350 as an adversary.

Just for fun, Tesla also did the tow test against the Rivian R1T and the Ford F-150 Lightning which are the main direct competitors of the Cybertruck. In short, the Cybertruck managed to outpull everything in the truck test with the whopping 317.75 feet result, including the Ford F-350 diesel version which to its merit pulled a formidable fight.

To be fair, the gold standard truck pull test was done with the most expensive tri-motor Cyberbeast trim of the Cybertruck that is priced at $99,990 before subsidies and gas savings. It's got 845 HP, 10,296 lb-ft of torque, and 11,000 lbs. of towing capacity. The tri-motor Cybertruck Cyberbeast model's release date is in 2024, and it comes with 320 miles of range on a charge.

Cybertruck speed test

Next in line for Cybertruck glory was the speed test which Tesla chose to do against a 2023 Porsche 911. The insane acceleration of the tri-motor Cyberbeast version pulled another miracle here.

Not only did the Cybertruck accelerate for 2.6 seconds from 0-60 mph, just as Tesla promised, but it also managed to beat the Porsche in the quarter mile test while towing another Porsche 911 on the platform behind it.

The dual-motor AWD Cybertruck has less impressive specs - 600 HP and 4.1 seconds acceleration - but it is still about ten grand more expensive than expected. Tesla has pegged the AWD Cybertruck price at $79,990 before subsidies, with the promise that there will be a base Cybertruck RWD version priced at $60,990 when it is released in 2025. That RWD Cybertruck's range is just 250 miles, though, while the AWD Cybertruck has 340 miles of EPA range estimate.
