Cybertruck in lifted mode caught strutting its highest off-road clearance around Giga Texas
The Tesla Cybertruck is nearing release and has been undergoing various tests inside and outside the Texas Gigafactory where the first retail batches will be assembled. One of the alpha prototypes of the Cybertruck with its standard air suspension equipment in lifted mode has been caught making the rounds at Giga Texas in a grainy video.
While the default Cybertruck air suspension doesn't provide as high of a distance from the ground as some lift kits, it would still serve most off-road purposes with the added 16-inch clearance in maximum extension mode. Moreover, Tesla has designed its first electric pickup truck with the generous 35-degree approach and 28-degree departure angles so that getting it over objects would be made easier.
That's not the first time we are seeing the Cybertruck riding high as in the Cyber Rodeo videos the prototype was also at one point in lifted mode, but it reminds that Tesla is getting closer to the official launch of the Cybertruck after the spring has rolled out and the summer months are in.
There have been quite a few changes since the first prototypes were spotted, though, as the production Cybertruck will get the new rear light bar, the sharp triangular side mirrors, as well as a "slightly smaller" chassis as per Tesla's head of design.
The electric pickup will also be equipped with Tesla's fastest charging technology as well as the new Hardware 4.0 kit with more and bigger cameras that should bring improved Full Self-Driving mode and better situational awareness.
