The rugged smartphone can be purchased on the official Cubot Store on AliExpress with a whopping 45% discount off its price. The Cubot KingKong X, which is available in 256GB and 512GB storage variants, is sold for $182.99 and $202.99 respectively instead of the original $333 and $366 price tags. AliExpress also offers a bundle that includes the Cubot C28 smartwatch for an extra $20.
For that price, the Cubot KingKong X is practically a steal for what it offers. It has a 6.5-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a MicroSD card slot for up to 1TB of extra storage. There is also a 100MP primary rear camera, a 32MP front-facing camera, NFC, Wi-Fi 6, dual SIM, and a massive 10,200mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging (charger included).
Cubot has placed a secondary 1.85-inch screen on the back but it is not a round display like that of the Cubot KingKong AX (curr. available on Amazon.de for €289). A second screen on the back seems counterintuitive considering this is supposed to be a rugged smartphone. Nevertheless, Cubot says the phone will survive drops from a height of up to 1.5 meters. The KingKong X also has an IP68/IP69K dust and water resistance rating and is MIL-STD-810H certified. It runs Android 14 out of the box, but there is no info on software support.
