As strong as a gorilla? Affordable and robust, that is how the Cubot King Kong presents itself. It is a 5-inch smartphone with an averagely fast SoC in a weighty, water and dust-protected case. Is this enough for the tough reality of everyday life?

Cubot Kingkong Mini
The Cubot KingKong Mini is a small handy smartphone from China with a rugged appearance. It has an extremely small and exquisite 4-inch screen, which is convenient to hold in one hand. It can even fit the coin pocket on a jacket. As for the build, the left and right side are made of zinc alloy with high hardness, all corners are covered by imported soft plastic packaging - the whole body has a thick and skidproof texture. It is convenient for one-hand operation. The user’s thumb can easily touch any part of the screen and experience the best single-hand manipulation. By meeting the waterproof rating standard IP65, the Cubot Kingkong Mini is capable of protecting against water, dust, dirt and sand. From each side of the phone, users can feel the safety around it. The camera is a 13MP rear camera capable of accurately capturing pictures with vivid clarity and sharp details. In addition, it is equipped with a 500mA LED flash, which has outstanding performance in night shooting. The 8MP front camera with face beauty makes every selfie lovely, recording all happy moments. With Face ID, users can easily and quickly unlock the smartphone.
For performance, it has fast-lane performance with a MT6761 2.0GHz Quad-Core processor, PowerVR GE8300 GPU, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of ROM. It works seamlessly with popular games. For immersive gaming pleasure, users can expand the storage capacity via a TF card by up to 128 GB. Aside from that, Android 9.0 reduces the waste of hardware and software resources. For additional features, it supports two Nano SIM cards for dual 4G networks, which are suitable for users who often travel abroad. Additionally, the smartphone has an advanced GPS positioning system with gyroscope and geomagnetic sensor, leading users to the precise direction. Users do not have to worry about getting lost. Even in a tunnel with a weak GPS signal, it has strong memory, so users will not lose their way. In conclusion, the Cubot KingKong Mini is small in size but big on performance. It is most suitable for users who often need to travel, given the geomagnetic sensor, gyroscope positioning system and the rugged build.

The Cubot KingKong 7 makes no secret of its claim: The metal design already reveals that the phone wants to face extreme conditions, water, dust, and shocks. And it does not cost 300 Euros. Can that work well?
Source: Root Nation Archive.org version
The main advantages of the Cubot KingKong 7 are IP68/IP69K protection and a relatively low price tag, which makes the smartphone an attractive option for those users who need this type of device. It has a decent display, a good level of performance with enough memory, and excellent battery life. At the same time, the KingKong 7 is hardly the most rugged device there is. The declared protection standards relate to dust and moisture resistance, but the manufacturer keeps silent about shock resistance. Without its ruggedness, it’s a simple budget Cubot smartphone with its own pros and cons.

After several days of active use, I was left with good emotions from the Cubot KingKong 7 rugged smartphone. This model of the device received a number of interesting features, both in design and in terms of performance. For example, the main camera module looked very nice and harmonious on the back of the device. I also liked the build quality and the materials used. In addition, the screen I can also attribute to the merits, since the brightness was very good, as for a budget device. I also liked the color rendition and contrast level. The rest of the parameters remained almost the same as on any other secure smartphone. But I can attribute a significant disadvantage – this is 5000 mAh battery capacity. Although, on the other hand, the thickness and weight of the device became less and it was very comfortable to use the smartphone.

To sum it up, we can say that Cubot Kingkong Power was generally liked by us. A good budget smartphone, which has a lot to praise. Not bad hardware, protection, excellent battery life, torch, design and ergonomics, in the end. The only things to complain about are the camera and the display. Oh, well, there is no 3.5 headphone jack. Otherwise, the Cubot Kingkong Power could be the perfect choice for people with specific professions or needs. Not a bad smartphone with its own features. Good hardware, protection, battery life, cool torch, design and ergonomics. Of course, it is not without its drawbacks, but they are insignificant against the background of everything else. This novelty is worth paying attention to and considering as an option for purchase.

The Cubot KingKong 9 is a very well-built rugged smartphone that will serve all your needs and requirements at your workplace and then some more. The secondary display will also come in handy and you will come to appreciate it. The cameras are so on point and so is the performance of the smartphone that can help keep up with your activities. On top of that, it ticks all the right checkboxes that mark this smartphone as one of the strongest and most rugged smartphones. It is built like a brick and at 390 grams, it even weighs like one. This is partly thanks to the huge battery that will keep your phone running for days, another strong point for the Cubot Kingkong 9. However, if you want an alternative smartphone, then keep in mind that the features provided by the Cubot Kingkong 9 cannot be provided by other smartphones, and definitely not at this price range. The device is a worth-it option if you want a rugged or durable smartphone and provides value for your money.

The Cubot KingKong 8 is a decently designed rugged smartphone that has some real advantages compared to its competitors in the same price range. The smartphone is also available in more regions now than ever. Things like IP rating, decent performance, large memory and storage capacity, and an extra bright flash for better photography at night, are some of the highlights of the smartphone. However, it is not without its cons. For one, it lacks an FHD display. The bezels are also quite huge and faster charging support would have been nice. But then again, all these technologies would have made the price a bit out of range for some users. So, considering what it is offering, we can say that the pricing is justified.

The Cubot KingKong 8 is a great choice for those seeking a budget-friendly and rugged device for all life situations. It’s not afraid of water, dust, or falls, it features a quite powerful and bright flashlight that easily replaces a separate one, has an impressive battery, and can also serve as a portable power bank for charging other devices. Additionally, the KingKong 8 offers good performance and a nearly “clean” Android experience without unnecessary bloatware. Yes, it may not boast a fancy display or impressive cameras, but considering its budget-friendly price tag, it’s hard to consider that a drawback.

The CUBOT King Kong Ace 3 combines reliability, solid functionality, and a very attractive price. It deserves praise for its genuinely more refined design compared to most other models, a good main screen, a useful secondary screen, adequate performance and battery life, 'clean' Android 14, and cameras capable of capturing decent shots. However, there's one catch: aside from some minor simplifications, it closely resembles the King Kong AX both visually and in terms of specs.

The CUBOT KINGKONG X is a smartphone from a Chinese company that stands out from its competitors due to its durability, unique design with additional technological features, and attractive price. Its main advantage is its rugged construction, adhering to IP68 and MIL-STD-810H standards, ensuring resistance to dust, water, drops, and extreme conditions. The model is equipped with a powerful chipset and a 10,200 mAh battery, providing long battery life. The screen is IPS but of very high quality. Additionally, there is a secondary display on the back panel, similar to a smartwatch. It might seem like such an unusual smartphone has no competitors, but of course, there are quite a few, especially from other Chinese brands. For instance, the Oukitel WP30 Pro looks quite similar and also features a rear display.

This model boasts enhanced resistance to drops, water, dust, and other environmental factors, along with a very powerful processor that ensures a good user experience. You will definitely appreciate the fact that a charger is included in the package. Moreover, the Cubot KingKong Star 2 is an armored smartphone that meets the IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H durability standards. The main downside for me is the main screen, which has a limited number of settings. Out of the three rear cameras, only the main one is really usable, while one of them isn’t used at all. The translation of the interface into Ukrainian could also use some improvement. Other than that, the device is quite interesting. The Cubot KingKong Star 2 is a smartphone designed for people who prioritize high durability, solid performance, and good features, while other specifications may not be as important. I’m confident that this smartphone will be a reliable companion for travel, extreme adventures, and everyday life.

The CUBOT KINGKONG POWER 3 is a smartphone aimed at users who need a reliable and durable device for everyday tasks and outdoor activities. It runs on a clean version of Android 14, offering a smooth interface, a large display, and a powerful battery that ensures long-lasting performance. The device also features a few unique aspects that set it apart. It includes an LED strip with various lighting effects and a large speaker that can function as a portable speaker, delivering loud and clear sound. However, there are some downsides to consider. The Face ID feature doesn’t always work on the first try, and the LED panel tends to get dirty quickly.

The Cubot KingKong X Pro has certainly delivered on its promise to deliver a premium smartphone at a decent price tag. Most rugged smartphones with features like the ones mentioned above cost more than what this phone is asking for. In fact, this is the only phone that can truly deliver a great experience in every aspect of the smartphone, considering the price. The design is fantastic and won’t break easily. It is essentially a brick that will work in any condition and can survive hard falls and drops. The display is also color-accurate and features a higher refresh rate, which is incredible. The main rear camera and the selfie camera are also quite good and can achieve similar results as other phones in the same price category.
