Citizen officially lists new Doctor Doom Eco-Drive collab watch as a boxed set

Citizen has put its Doctor Doom watch on the Canadian store at CA$650. The reference is AW5027-44W. Citizen sells it as a Marvel Boxed Set.

The dial features Doom's mask. Citizen built it in layers, grey on grey, so the mask looks like relief on the dial as compared to print. You see gold-tone hands and markers sitting over the top. An olive segment runs across the upper chapter ring. That is the only loud color anywhere on the watch, and it is the green from the character's hood.

Underneath, there are no surprises. Caliber J810 drives three hands and a date at three. Eco-Drive means light charges it and nobody ever opens the caseback for a battery. Water resistance is 100 m. The crystal is mineral. The whole thing weighs 88 g on a green leather strap with 20 mm lugs, the caseback is engraved with Doom's logo, and the box holds a display case and a double-sided collectible coin.

The case is 42.5 mm, which is worth stating because Citizen's own description claims 43. The spec table and the Amazon listing both say 42.5. That description also calls it grey IP stainless steel; the colour is a coating over steel rather than the steel itself.

None of this is a debut. Citizen showed the watch at San Diego Comic-Con as part of the Avengers: Doomsday wave, and it has already sold out once on the US store. Canada lists it under 'New Arrivals' with a notify button instead of a cart, so nobody is buying it there yet either.

CA$650 converts to roughly US$456. Against Citizen's Marvel range that is above the X-Men at $375 and below the Fantastic 4 collab at $625.
