Deal | Citizen’s stainless-steel Eco-Drive BM7551-50X falls to $150 with stacked promo code; 55% off

JCPenney will sell you a Citizen Eco-Drive for $151.87 today. It also claims that is 55 percent off. Let's start with the part that works. The watch is the BM7551-50X, a 43 mm steel Eco-Drive with a green dial and a compass ring printed around the edge. Enter code SAVEBIG7 at checkout and the $168.75 sale price falls to $151.87. That much is straightforward, and it is a good price.
The $375 is where it comes apart. Citizen’s own US store does not list this reference at all and returns a Product Not Found page. Best Buy has it marked as no longer available in new condition. Amazon’s remaining listings are somewhere between $199 and $225.
However, nobody is charging $375. Measured against what the watch actually trades for, the saving is roughly $50 rather than $223. Still worth having, but about a third of the advertised story. What the money does get you is a solar watch that never needs a battery. Caliber E111 runs to plus or minus 15 seconds a month and holds roughly six months of charge in the dark. Water resistance is 100 metres, the bracelet sits on 22 mm lugs, and the date reads at four.
Two notes, however. Shipping to cities in the US lands on October 19. The "Hurry, 1 left" warning applies to in-store pickup at one branch in Mesquite, Texas, not to stock across the site, so do not let it rush you.
JCPenney says 812 people viewed the page in the past 24 hours. Six have reviewed the watch, averaging 4.5 stars. Make of that what you will.
