Christie has unveiled the new Griffyn 4K35-RGB projector for large venues. The device has been designed for use in larger venues such as theme parks. The native 4K projector has up to 36,500 lumens brightness and covers 98% of the Rec.2020 color gamut. The solid-state RGB laser light source is expected to last for over 50,000 hours with typical use. The company claims that the 3DLP gadget is exceptionally bright and compact compared to similar models; the device weighs 179 lbs (~81 kg) and measures 36.3 x 25 x 15-in (~922 x 635 x 380 mm).
Proprietary technologies such as TruLife+, which provides a broader range of connectivity options and negates the need to use removable option cards, are built into the gadget. An electronic color convergence (ECC) tool lets you quickly and simply adjust the color properties. You can choose from two operating modes: 200-240 VAC optimizes brightness, while 100-120 VAC enhances the device's life expectancy. The projector can run relatively quietly with an output of 44 dBA when in quiet mode.
Ports on the gadget include four 12G-SDI, two HDMI 2.0 and two DisplayPort 1.2 inputs. Optional upgrades include a 0.38:1 ultra-short throw lens and a Mirage package to deliver 4K at 120 Hz resolution. As might be expected, given the Christie Griffyn 4K35-RGB projector is designed for commercial use, the price is not listed; instead, you need to request a quote from the company.
