New exploration game hits Steam with 15,000 peak player count and 94% positive reviews

A new exploration-adventure game from The Game Bakers has landed on Steam, hitting a peak player count of 14,966 within its first four days of launch, making it the most successful launch from the publisher so far. The Steam Deck Verified game has also attracted about 5,000 reviews so far, and 94% of these reviews are positive.
Described by its developer as a "survival-climber", Cairn lets players experience the thrill of rock climbing without the associated risk. In this game, players control a character named Aava — a veteran climber who is set to become the first person to reach the summit of Mount Kami.
Having no fixed path to the summit, this game gives players freedom of choice — allowing players to inspect the mountain and choose where to climb. Cairn is challenging as each of Aava's limbs has to be manually placed to new spots. It also doesn't have any stamina gauge, which means players have to observe Aava closely, or risk falling because of exhaustion. Falling means a step back to your last checkpoint, and checkpoints are created by screwing pitons onto the mountain's surface.
To add to the difficulty, players also have to manage limited resources like water, food, and pitons. However, the game has different difficulty modes, offering assistance to players who may find the gameplay to be exhausting.
As for pricing, Cairn is currently on sale at a 10% discount, bringing the price down to $26.99. It also has full controller support, and has no multiplayer mode. It also offers an expedition mode to complement the story mode.
