For a horribly expensive price of well above $4,000, Lenovo is selling the Legion 9 18, an incredibly powerful desktop replacement that features a Core Ultra 9 275HX, 64 GB of RAM and a bright, colorful 4K panel. The heart of the machine for gamers is the GeForce RTX 5090, which Lenovo has additionally overclocked, so that the 18-inch model often comes out on top in benchmarks, as our recent review shows.
Even when playing in 3,840 x 2,160 or native resolution, most titles run at maximum details (without upscaling), although DLSS4 or Frame Generation have be activated from time to time for more than 60 FPS. Nevertheless, the performance delivered is very impressive, which also applies to many other categories. The Legion 9 18 scores points with its stylish, high-quality case, which includes various lighting elements, modern ports (e.g., 2x Thunderbolt 5), powerful sound and numerous upgrade options in the form of four RAM and SSD slots each.
The downsides are, however, are its high energy consumption, which results in short battery life, and a very bulky power supply, as well as the high operating noise under load (at least in performance mode). Find out what other advantages and disadvantages the 18-inch model has to offer in our detailed review.
