According to our detailed review of the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 tablet, the product's 12.1-inch 120 Hz IPS display features a resolution of 2560 by 1600 pixels and a peak HDR brightness of around 684 nits. We found the panel's color accuracy to be quite decent as well, which also covers almost the entire sRGB color gamut.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7400 SoC powering the tablet is a decent performer, scoring over 3,400 points in Geekbench. We found its everyday performance to be very decent, and the vast majority of users with moderately intensive workloads are unlikely to find any major room for complaint with the tablet's performance.
Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2: Nine-speaker setup with superb audio quality
Of course, the Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 is primarily intended to be an entertainment device, featuring an impressive sound system consisting of a total of nine speakers. The nine-speaker array includes four tweeters, three subwoofers, and two passive radiators.
As far as audio quality is concerned, we were very pleased with the Tab Plus Gen 2. In fact, we even considered it to be among the best we have come across in recent memory. Interestingly, the tablet can even be used as a standalone Bluetooth speaker.
A built-in stand is also present, which is quite useful and supports multiple orientations.
However, the bulky speaker system causes the tablet to weigh around 775 g or 1.7 lbs, which definitely makes it quite cumbersome to haul around in a backpack. The speaker bulge also makes the tablet quite thick, coming in at 22.7 mm or 0.89 inches at its thickest point.
Other notable details of the tablet include Wi-Fi 6, 2 major OS updates and 4 years of security updates, 13 MP rear camera, 8 MP front camera, as well as a 10,200 mAh battery, which lasted nearly 29 hours in our Wi-Fi web browsing test.
At its current price on Lenovo's website, the Tab Plus Gen 2 brings commendable value for folks who are on the hunt for an entertainment-first tablet but are not too concerned about portability or weight.
As always, interested customers are definitely advised to refer to our in-depth review of the tablet before pulling the trigger.
