Bosch eBike Systems has officially introduced a set of new drive units and features to improve both performance and convenience for everyday riders and commuters. The update expands the brand’s smart system and includes three refreshed motor lines - Cargo Line, Performance Line Speed, and Performance Line - as well as a new 540Wh battery and enhanced app features.
The new Cargo Line and Performance Line Speed drive units now deliver up to 100Nm of torque and 750W of peak power. These upgrades are fully adjustable via the eBike Flow app, letting riders fine-tune power output depending on terrain or load. Both units are now lighter and quieter than before, with the Cargo Line dropping to 2.8kg. Bosch also continues to offer built-in walk assist and hill-hold features to help manage cargo loads on inclines.
For long-distance riders and S-Pedelec users, the Performance Line Speed offers pedal assistance up to 45 km/h. It features a new limit mode that can cap the top speed to 25 km/h when preferred. The new Performance Line for regular eBikes offers 75Nm of torque and weighs 400g less than its predecessor.
Bosch’s lightweight Performance Line SX motor has also received an over-the-air software upgrade that boosts its torque to 60Nm and assistance up to 400%, available from fall 2025. The eMTB+ mode will also be added via a software update for more dynamic off-road riding.
To support these new power units, Bosch has launched the PowerTube 540 battery. It retains the same weight as the PowerTube 500, but increases capacity to 540Wh. When paired with the PowerMore 250 range extender, users can achieve nearly 800Wh of combined range.
On the app side, Bosch is introducing two major additions: a multi-user bike sharing feature and a digital "Battery Lock." The former allows users to grant up to five friends or family members access to the same eBike, with individual profiles saved through the eBike Flow app. Meanwhile, the Battery Lock disables motor support if the battery is stolen and inserted into another smart system-equipped bike, making the stolen component essentially unusable.
This complete system refresh from Bosch should improve everyday usability for a wide range of riders.
