Blancpain has refreshed its premium Tech watch family with the launch of the new Fifty Fathoms Tech Ref. 5029-12B30-94A. The company’s new refreshed model retains the same design as the Ocean Commitment IV. Speaking of the case, the Fifty Fathoms Tech features a 45 mm Grade 23 brushed titanium case, which is the same case material found on the Ocean Commitment IV.
The brushed titanium case is complemented by a unidirectional 120-click ceramic bezel with heavy knurling for ease of use while wearing gloves. It has an absolute black dial adorned with luminescent hour markers, numerals, and hour, minute, and second hands. However, there’s no day complication here; instead, it offers a date window positioned between the four- and five-hour markers.
The dive watch is powered by Blancpain’s workhorse movement, the calibre 1315A, which can be seen through a sapphire crystal caseback. The mechanical movement beats at 4 Hz, features 35 jewels, and offers 120 hours of power reserve. The new addition here is an interchangeable strap system, a first for the entire Fifty Fathoms lineup.
Other features include a helium escape valve, a diving scale on the ceramic bezel, and shock resistance and water resistance to 300 m (30 bar). The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Tech Ref. 5029-12B30-94A is priced at $22,700 and is now available via Blancpain’s official store. It comes with a quick-change integrated rubber strap with a pin buckle. However, there’s no stainless steel bracelet option here. For more information, you can visit Blancpain’s official website.
