Chopard unveils Imperiale Four Seasons watch with handcrafted dial and in-house movement
Chopard has just released a new limited-edition women’s timepiece, the Imperiale Four Seasons. The model, numbering just 25 pieces worldwide, is intended as a showcase of the brand’s high jewelry craftsmanship and horological expertise. This is evident from the watch's 36mm case made from 18-carat white gold, set extensively with diamonds totalling 3.79 carats across the bezel, lugs, and crown. The case is 12.10mm thick and has water resistance up to 50 meters. A see-through sapphire-crystal caseback displays the hand-finished movement within.
The dial is noteworthy for its detailed white gold lace motif, which has been created using a combination of hand-applied mother-of-pearl marquetry and artisanal painting. What results is a technique that produces a layered effect in both texture and color, and is intended to evoke the change of seasons. The watchmaker has doubled down on this "seasons" theme through the inclusion of four interchangeable alligator leather straps in different colors. Each strap is designed to represent one of the four seasons.
Powering the Imperiale Four Seasons is Chopard’s in-house L.U.C 96.31-L automatic movement. The caliber, equipped with twin stacked barrels (Chopard’s "Twin Technology"), delivers a power reserve of approximately 65 hours. It operates at a frequency of 4Hz and features 31 jewels, with a movement thickness of 5.55mm. The finishing includes Côtes de Genève decorations for the bridges and circular graining on the mainplate, all visible through the transparent caseback.
The new Chopard Imperiale Four Seasons is listed at AU$166,500 (~$109,800) and is available through select Chopard boutiques.
