Beats Pill Bluetooth speaker gets a Pokémon edition in select markets

Following a report that Beats was partnering with The Pokémon Company on a special edition product, the Apple-owned brand has now announced a Pokémon edition of its Beats Pill portable Bluetooth speaker. The speaker features Pokémon mascot, Pikachu, and another popular Pokémon.

Officially called the Pokémon x Beats Pill, the new special edition speaker is grey but features Pikachu in its signature yellow color and Mimikyu in gray on the speaker grill. It also comes with a lanyard with a Pokémon charm. There are also Pikachu, Mimikyu, Beats b logo, Poké Ball, and lightning bolts charms included in the box.

Speaking about the box, the Pokémon x Beats Pill comes in a special yellow and grey box. The press release says the box is interactive, but doesn't explain how. However, based on the images, both Pikachu and Mimkyu's ears stick out and do look like they can be pinned down. Save for these cosmetic changes, the speaker is no different from the standard colors (available on Amazon for $129.95).

Despite the special packaging and the included gifts, the Pokémon x Beats Pill speaker retains the $149.99 price tag as the other color options. It is already listed on the Beats website, but according to the press release, it will be available on October 15 on Apple.com and Target stores in the US. It will also be available in the UK on Apple's website and Argos stores (online and select offline stores) for £149.99; and in China on Apple.com and Douyin for CNY 1,299.
