Acer Sospiro A70 launches with rear display and microSD slot

Acer has barely any presence in the smartphone market, but several smartphones bearing the Acer logo are sold in Latin America. These come from Senwa Global, a smartphone manufacturer from Mexico that has acquired a license to distribute Acer-branded products. Following the Sospiro A15 the manufacturer is now introducing a higher-end smartphone, the Sospiro A70, which also features a secondary display.
This 1.88-inch display with a resolution of 284 x 240 pixels can not only show the time as well as incoming messages and calls, but also allows users to take selfies with the 64-megapixel main camera instead of the 16 MP selfie camera. The rest of the specifications are more reminiscent of an affordable mid-range smartphone, as the device features a Unisoc T8200 with two Cortex-A76 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. This is complemented by 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash storage, which can be expanded by up to 1 TB via a microSD card.
The 6.67-inch IPS panel only offers a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels, but at least it has a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The mid-range smartphone is only IP64-certified, meaning it is protected against rain but is not fully waterproof. The device features a 5,000 mAh battery. A GPS module, an NFC chip for contactless payments, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 round out the specifications.
Pricing and availability
Senwa Global has not yet confirmed when or at what price the Sospiro A70 will launch. The manufacturer's smartphones are not usually sold in the U.S.
