Samsung unveils affordable mid-range smartphone with Gorilla Glass Victus and OIS camera

After the Galaxy F70 Pro was already announced in August, the Galaxy F70 5G will follow in a few days. Samsung has published a teaser page on the Indian online store Flipkart according to which the mid-range smartphone will be officially unveiled on Sunday, October 18. The device is expected to be offered in India for under ₹20,000 ($211).
The low price is certainly noticeable in the design, as the Galaxy F70 5G features a front with a notch and a particularly large chin. The device does at least use durable Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which should provide relatively good protection against drops and scratches. Samsung uses a flat plastic frame and a pill-shaped camera module.
This houses a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2 MP macro camera. The selfie camera is equipped with a 13 MP sensor. The Galaxy F70 5G features a Super AMOLED display with a 1080p+ resolution, but Samsung has not yet confirmed details on the refresh rate or brightness.
Inside the smartphone is a Samsung Exynos 1330 with two ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and charges via USB-C at up to 25 watts. The smartphone has an NFC chip for contactless payments and supports Google's Circle to Search feature. All remaining details on specifications, pricing and availability should be officially confirmed by the launch on Sunday at the latest.
