Even though the holiday shopping frenzy is nearing its end, the major e-commerce giants are continuing to serve up excellent deals that are hard to look past. For instance, the 100-watt Baseus Blade ultra-slim power bank with a capacity of 20,000 mAh is now available on Amazon for its lowest-ever price of just under $50. However, there is a catch — this deal is only valid for Prime members.
As the name suggests, portability is the primary selling point for the Baseus Blade power bank. At just 0.7 inches (17.78 mm) thick, the Blade power bank is extremely convenient to carry around, whether in a backpack or a laptop sleeve. The product weighs around 1.08 lbs (490 grams) and sports a total of four ports, two of which are of the Type-C variant with a maximum output of 100 watts - at least on paper.
Here is where the spark dims a little. As ZDNet found out, the advertised output figure is rather hard to reach in the real world. In their testing, the Blade power bank only managed a peak output of around 88 watts and remained around 50-60 watts most of the time, although it does vary with each laptop. While that is plenty fast for most thin-and-light laptops, it's quite disappointing to see it fail to live up to its publicized claims. On the brighter side, the Blade power bank can itself charge up quickly enough, reaching a full charge in 90 minutes.
All in all, the Baseus Blade power bank is a decent enough product for laptop users on the go who prioritize portability. For such people who also happen to be Amazon Prime customers, the product's all-time low price is undoubtedly the cherry on top.
