Base variant of the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 to come with Intel Core i3 processor and welcome RAM bump
The Microsoft Surface Pro series is incredibly popular and currently starts with a configuration priced at US$749.99 that features a Core i3 chip, 128 GB storage, and just 4 GB RAM. It’s a high price to buy into the highly rated series and the amount of RAM seems simply puny for current workloads and processing requirements. But it seems Microsoft is going to fix that particular issue with the Surface Pro 8.
According to a report by WinFuture.de, there have been details of a new configuration for the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 that should make the entry-level model more attractive to those who understand how important RAM amount is. Not long ago Core i5 and Core i7 Surface Pro 8 variants were leaked and now details of an i3 model have been shared…and it comes with 8 GB RAM.
It’s not clear if Microsoft will keep offering a 4 GB variant of the i3 entry model but at least bumping the RAM choices to 8 GB for the cheapest Microsoft Surface Pro 8 should help users keep up with others with devices where 8 GB RAM is a bare minimum. The base variant is also expected to come with a 128 GB SSD. Rumored launch time for the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 series is January 2021.
