B&O Beolab 90 Limited Edition wraps 8,200 watts of hi-fi power in exclusive design

After Bang & Olufsen had already launched a Titanium Edition of the Beolab 90 last year, the Danish hi-fi specialist is now presenting two further limited editions. The Beolab 90 Monarch Edition consists of a combination of aluminum and rosewood, the numerous wooden slats and the partially transparent fabric are intended to give the speakers the appearance of an architectural work of art.
The Zenith Edition is instead equipped with six panels, each with 289 aluminum spheres, which are finished in seven different shades, all inspired by pearls. This is intended to give the speaker a shimmering surface that interacts three-dimensionally with incident light. Technically, the Beolab 90 remains unchanged. Each speaker has a 13" subwoofer, three 10" woofers, seven 4.5" midrange drivers and seven 1" tweeters.
Each driver is combined with an independent amplifier, giving a Beolab 90 a total output power of 8,200 watts. With this power, a maximum volume of 126 dB with a bass potential of 123 dB should be possible. According to Bang & Olufsen, the Beolab 90 can reproduce frequencies from 12 Hz to 43 kHz. The sound can be adjusted to suit the room in question.
Prices and availability
Bang & Olufsen has not yet confirmed when or at what price the Beolab 90 Monarch and Zenith Editions will be launched. Both editions are limited to ten pairs each and are therefore likely to be more expensive than the regular Beolab 90, which costs $185,000 a pair.
