Asus has refreshed the CX14 and CX15 line of Chromebook laptops, and the higher-end configurations come with Intel Twin Lake CPUs. To be specific, the options range from the lower-end N150 to the i3 N355. On the other hand, the entry-level configurations feature the Celeron N4500 from the Jasper Lake lineup, which is paired with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage.
The entry-level options also feature lower-end 1080p TN displays, which are known for having limited viewing angles. As for the higher-end options, they sport FHD VIPS or IPS panels with options for touch-enabled displays. There are Chromebook Plus models as well. They ship with at least 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
Regarding what sets the CX14 and CX15 apart, there isn't much difference other than the display size and the build. The former lineup of Chromebook laptops comes with 14-inch displays, while the CX15 models feature 15.6-inch screens. Models within the CX14 lineup are also lighter, coming in at 3.1 pounds, while the CX15 models weigh 3.5 pounds.
There's a decent selection of connectivity ports on these new Chromebook laptops, including:
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 2x or 1x USB 3.2 Type-C
- 1x HDMI 1.4b
- 1x audio port
For wireless connectivity, the new CX15 and CX14 Chromebook laptops have WiFi 6 or WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 or Bluetooth 5.4, depending on the model.
