In addition to gaming PCs, laptops, and monitors, Acer has introduced a handful of ChromeOS systems at IFA 2025, and the Chromebox CX16 is one of them. This new mini PC is said to offer versatile connectivity options in a compact and space-saving chassis.
Acer is offering the option to pack this ChromeOS mini PC with up to the Intel Core 7 150U, and it's possible to configure the system with Intel Core 5 120U, Core 3 100U, or the Core i3 1305U processor. The processor of the Chromebox CX16 can be paired with 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, and there's an M.2 slot for SSD, but the company didn't specify the maximum storage support (1 TB Samsung 990 EVO Plus curr. $64.99 on Amazon).
As for the connectivity ports, this new ChromeOS mini PC comes with the following port configuration:
- 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C
- 3x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
- 1x DisplayPort
- 2x HDMI 2.1
- 1x 2.5G Ethernet LAN
- 1x 3.5 mm audio
- 1x SD card reader
For wireless connectivity, the Chromebox CX16 has WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. Acer also highlights that the VESA mounting support, paired with the compact housing of the mini PC, makes it ideal for small workspaces. As for the Enterprise version, it offers additional upgrades for higher security, easier management, and more flexible access.
Price-wise, the Chromebox CX16 is set to be available from September 2025 with a starting price of €299 in the EU, around $348. The Enterprise version, on the other hand, will start at €399, about $464. Check out the spec sheet attached below to learn more about this new ChromeOS mini PC.
