Asus reveals prices for Zenbook Sora laptops with up to 33 hours of battery life

Asus has officially confirmed pricing details for its first Snapdragon X2 Elite-powered offering, the Zenbook Sora 14 and Sora 16 in Japan. Likely to witness a global release with the Zenbook A14 and A16 branding, the laptops were first unveiled at CES 2026.
As we already know, the Zenbook A16 laptop will feature a 16-inch 3K OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and the same applies to the Sora 16. The Ceraluminium chassis allows for a lightweight construction, tipping the scales at just 1.2 kg or 2.65 pounds. At around 1.38 to 1.65 cm thick, the Zenbook Sora 16 or A16 laptop is pretty sleek as well.
The ARM-based 18-core Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme SoC will handle compute, paired with up to 48 GB of LPDDR5X-9523 shared memory. The I/O on offer includes HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, and dual USB 4 ports alongside an SD 4.0 card slot and an audio combo jack. Based on the benchmarks we have so far, performance should be on the level as a Core Ultra 9 285HX in synthetic multi-core tests.

The X2 Elite powering the smaller Zenbook Sora 14 or A14 laptop is no slouch either, promising performance that is anywhere between an Apple M5 (MacBook Pro 14" currently $1,449 on Amazon), and an Apple M4 Pro depending on the exact SKU. Right now, however, we do not know whether the Zenbook Sora 14 sports the 12-core or 18-core X2 Elite.
The Asus Zenbook Sora 16 laptop will be available next month, with prices starting at 339,800 Yen or roughly $2,170. The Sora 14, with a lighter 999 gram or 2.2 pound chassis, 1920 x 1200 OLED display, and a whopping 33-hour battery life will start at 259,800 Yen, or around $1,661, and will also arrive on shelves later next month. Global launch is likely to follow, but the exact timeframe is not clear as of now.
