Computex 2015 | Asus officially launches ZenPad tablets
Asus showcased two new tablets at Computex 2015 today, the ZenPad 8.0 and the premium ZenPad S 8.0.
The less powerful of the new models, ZenPad 8.0 (Z380C), features an 8-inch display with 1280x800 resolution. It is powered by Intel Atom x3-C3230RK SoFIA processor with Mali 540 MP4 GPU and will be available with 1 or 2 GB of RAM and 8 or 16 GB of storage space.
ZenPad 8.0 comes with a 5 MP main camera and a 2 MP front shooter for selfies. Communication options include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and an optional LTE module.
The ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580CA) is a much more powerful and more premium device. It boasts a 2K (20148x1536) IPS display and a very thin, 6.6 mm casing with metallic finish, weighing only 298 grams (0.66 lbs). Under the hood sits a 64-bit, 2.33 GHz Intel Atom Z3580 processor with PowerVR G6430 GPU.
ZenPad S 8.0 features 4 GB of RAM and 16, 32 or 64 GB of storage. The main camera is equipped with an 8 MP sensor while the secondary one can shoot 5 MP photos. The ZenPad S 8.0 also comes with an optional Z Stylus with 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity and up to 1.2 mm writing tip.
Both new tablets run Android 5.0 Lollipop. No information regarding pricing or availability has been disclosed yet.
