Asus launches new OLED portable monitor with USB-C pass-through

Asus has launched a new OLED portable monitor in the EU, the ZenScreen MQ16FC. As the model number suggests, it comes with a 16-inch display that the brand claims offers "exceptional" color accuracy and a 95% DCI-P3 color coverage rating.
The company further touts that the OLED display has a contrast ratio of 100,000:1, which should allow the panel to offer deep blacks. While the refresh rate is set to 60Hz, Asus highlights that the response time is "as low as 1ms," allowing the portable monitor to offer smooth visuals.
Other than that, the ZenScreen OLED MQ16FC has an aspect ratio of 16:10, offering larger screen space than 16:9 portable monitors. The resolution is set at 1920x1200, and Asus notes that there are multiple TÜV Eye Care technologies to deliver a comfortable viewing experience.
Another notable highlight of this portable monitor is support for USB-C power pass-through. This lets the ZenScreen MQ16FC receive power and display signals through one cable (5-feet USB4 v2 Silkland Type-C cable curr. $26.99 on Amazon). The pass-through feature also enables it to deliver power to a connected laptop or device when it's connected to a power source.
Speaking of connectivity, this Asus portable monitor has two USB-C ports with DP Alt mode, one mini HDMI, and one 3.5mm audio jack. The screen appears to be relatively power-efficient as well, with the spec sheet mentioning the rated power consumption being at only 4.7W.
As for the price, Asus has launched the OLED ZenScreen MQ16FC in the EU with an MSRP of €299.90, about $351. The portable monitor is expected to see a wider launch soon.
