The 2024 ASUS Zenbook S 14 solidifies itself as one of the best Windows alternatives to Apple’s MacBook Air, bringing meaningful improvements in key areas. With a refined yet familiar design, it remains lightweight and portable while introducing new color options and ASUS’ durable Ceraluminum material. Despite its ultra-thin form, ASUS manages to pack in a solid selection of ports, along with an upgraded cooling system to keep thermals in check. Overall, it shows that Intel's Lunar Lake can hold its own in a growing ARM-based market.

The ASUS Vivobook S 14 OLED costs Rs 89,990 in India. For its asking price, the laptop gets a lot right. With that said, I should point out that the device faces stiff competition from laptops like the Acer Swift GO 14, which features a faster processor and a more powerful integrated GPU. Additionally, Acer’s contender comes with Windows Studio effects, which make it a better prospect for office-goers who routinely jump in and out of video calls. It also delivers more performance per buck spent.

The standout feature of the Vivobook S series is its affordability. The 14-inch model starts at RM4,399, and the 16-inch at RM4,699. For the price, these laptops offer a premium design, robust specs, excellent displays, and solid battery life. Do have a look at these laptops as I think they’re very affordable.

Intel Arc 7-Core: Integrated graphics adapter based on the Xe LPG architecture (similar to the dedicated Arc GPUs, but with a focus on efficiency). Provides 7 of the 8 Xe cores (112 Xe Vector Engines) and 7 ray tracing units.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.
The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.
