Diving a little into the performance and display of the device, our testing showed that the Asus Rog Ally can play modern AAA titles at FHD with low/medium settings with acceptable frame rates in both “Performance” and “Turbo” modes. For instance, the console ran Hogwarts Legacy and Baldur’s Gate 3 at 38 and 39 FPS at FHD/low in Turbo mode, respectively. These games will also look great on the 7-inch panel, as we measured more than 500 nits of brightness, 92% sRGB coverage, and a solid contrast ratio of 1,350:1.

Finally, the Asus Rog Ally also does well when it comes to fan noise and heat management.

Unfortunately, the Asus Rog Ally can only sustain about an hour of demanding gameplay. So, if you want a console with a longer runtime, take a look at the new Rog Ally X that has a larger battery.
