The Asus R558UQ is an ideal laptop for media consumption. The design is decent but its weight might be a let down for many. The display is also good for daily users and most of the the pre-installed apps are actually useful. If you want a laptop for everyday use with the most recent Intel processor, the R558UQ is definitely a good option. The battery life is decent as well.

The Asus R558UQ looks good on paper, but in real world terms this isn't the laptop to buy. While the R558 does allow casual gaming, you'll get a much better display with the Lenovo Ideapad 510 and with the same hardware, plus double the RAM. We recommend spending a bit more and buying that device.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Incorporated, a Taiwanese multinational company, produces motherboards, graphics cards, optical drives, PDAs, computer monitors, notebook computers, servers, networking products, mobile phones, computer cases, computer components, and computer cooling systems. The company's 2007 revenues reached US$6.9 billion. ASUS also produces components for other manufacturers. The Eee PC initiated the netbook boom in 2008.
In the notebook sector, Asus had a global market share of about 11% from 2014-2016, making it the fourth largest laptop manufacturer. In the smartphone sector, Asus is not among the Top 5 and has only a small market share (as of 2016).
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
NVIDIA GeForce 940MX: Mid-range laptop graphics card based on the Maxwell architecture. Compared to the older 940M, the MX now also supports GDDR5 graphics memory and maybe slightly faster clock speeds.
NVIDIA GeForce 930MX: Lower mid-range graphics card for laptops based on the GM108 chip. The 930MX is a refresh to the 930M and now also supports GDDR5 graphics memory.
