If you want a laptop with a large screen, but your budget is tight, this 17-inch Asus K72F might fit the bill. Our review model was supplied by Laptops Direct, where it's available for £559.84 -- a pretty attractive price tag for a model with this screen size. It´s not the most exciting laptop around, but the Asus K72F offers a large screen and good performance at a low-ish price.

The wide chassis leaves plenty of room for the isolation-style keyboard which comfortably includes a separate numeric keypad. While the keyboard doesn't span the whole width of the chassis, the keys are still well-sized and firmly mounted. The touchpad is also generously sized and responsive, making it easy to use.

Those looking for an affordable high definition media platform will be well pleased with the features on the AMD based ASUS K72DR-A1. With a price tag under $1000, the system offers a nice balance of performance and features including a very comfortable keyboard. There are some big drawbacks to the laptop though including a display that doesn't support full 1080p, below average battery life and a lack of many peripheral connectors.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Incorporated, a Taiwanese multinational company, produces motherboards, graphics cards, optical drives, PDAs, computer monitors, notebook computers, servers, networking products, mobile phones, computer cases, computer components, and computer cooling systems. The company's 2007 revenues reached US$6.9 billion. ASUS also produces components for other manufacturers. The Eee PC initiated the netbook boom in 2008.
In the notebook sector, Asus had a global market share of about 11% from 2014-2016, making it the fourth largest laptop manufacturer. In the smartphone sector, Asus is not among the Top 5 and has only a small market share (as of 2016).
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5145: The 5145 is a renamed Mobility Radeon HD 4570 with slightly higher clock rates. Therefore it has no DirectX 11 support and a performance between the 4570 and 5470.
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470: Entry level DirectX 11 chip with GDDR5 support but only 80 shader cores. Supports Eyefinity (up to 4 monitors) and 8-ch HD audio over HDMI. Performance on par with the old GeForce 8600M GT.
Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) HD Graphics: Onboard graphics card that is built in the new Arrandale CPUs (Core i3 / i5 / i7 Dual Cores). Depending on the model and Turbo Boost, the GMA HD is clocked between 166 and 766 MHz.

Intel Core i3:
350M:
The Core i3-350M is technically a Core i5-430M without the Turbo Boost overlocking feature. Therefore, it always clocks with max. 2.26 GHz (of course Speedstep is included). Thanks to Hyperthreading, 4 threads can be processed simultaneously. An integrated graphics card (GMA HD) and a DDR3 memory controller are also included in the package.
AMD Athlon II:
P320: Entry level dual core processor for 13"+ laptops featuring a DDR3 memory controller.
AMD Phenom II X3:
N830: Mobile 3-core laptop processor based on the desktop Athlon II X3.

3.1 kg:
In former years, this weight was representative for laptops with a 14-16 inch display-diagonal. Nowadays, 17 inch laptops weigh less than that.
3.3 kg:
75.57%: This rating is not convincing. The laptop is evaluated below average, this is not really a recommendation for purchase.
