Apple's website leaks Apple Pencil Pro ahead of Tuesday's launch event
Apple's first major launch event of the year will take place on Tuesday. May 7. In a 35-minute livestream, Apple will not only present an iPad Pro with an OLED display, Apple M4 and brand new MacBook-style keyboard case, but also the successor to the Apple Pencil 2.
X user @ribu_ap712 has now been able to find a description of the teaser image in the source code of Apple's Japanese website, according to which the image shows a hand holding an "Apple Pencil Pro". The German and English-language websites, on the other hand, simply refer to an Apple Pencil. This is the first concrete indication that the latest iPad stylus could be marketed as the Apple Pencil Pro, and also suggests that it will not replace the Apple Pencil 2, but will instead be offered as a more expensive alternative.
According to rumors, this stylus will have two new features in particular. Firstly, Apple is supposedly installing a vibration motor that enables haptic feedback when using the Apple Pencil. This will make it clear for users that a new tool has been selected, for example. Secondly, the stylus is expected to detect when it is pressed together with the fingers in order to control certain functions via a "squeeze" gesture. For example, the brush size could become larger the more firmly the thumb and index finger squeeze the Apple Pencil. More details on this new Apple Pencil are expected very soon when Apple's "Let Loose" launch event is streamed live.
