Apple iPad mini 7 to launch in 2024, report reveals details about next-generation iPhone SE and iPad Air

According to a new report from Bloomberg, the launch of a new iPad mini is imminent: the compact tablet is expected to come onto the market before the end of the year. Apart from the codename "J410", no further details about the new mini tablet are yet known. However, following the launch of the sixth-generation iPad mini in September 2021, an upgrade from the Apple A15 Bionic to a more modern processor is likely to be planned at the very least.

The next-generation iPad Air is set to follow next year. Apple is reportedly planning another 11-inch and a 13-inch model, and the tablets are currently known under the codenames "J607" and "J637". The next iPad Air is not expected to receive any significant design changes and will instead focus on internal upgrades, so an upgrade from the Apple M2 to the Apple M3 is conceivable. The iPad Air is expected to introduce a new Magic Keyboard that will inherit some of the new features of the iPad Pro's keyboard case, possibly the function keys and aluminum finish.

The fourth-generation iPhone SE, codenamed "V59", is also expected to be launched early next year. Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman largely echoes earlier rumors that the mid-range smartphone is expected to inherit the design of the Apple iPhone 14, including the notch, Face ID and 60 Hz OLED display. However, the iPhone SE is expected to support Apple Intelligence thanks to a more modern processor, differentiating it from older iPhones.
