Deal | Apple AirPods 4 discounted near record-low Prime Day price
Apple's popular AirPods 4 are on sale once again. They are currently discounted to near their all-time low price over at Amazon.
The AirPods 4 are the latest iteration of Apple's base TWS earbuds. The buds have proven popular among consumers, mostly thanks to their ease of use in the Apple ecosystem. The buds seamlessly pair to other Apple products, such as the iPhone, iPad, or MacBook line of laptops.
On the audio front, the AirPods 4 are no slouch either. In our review, we highlighted the AirPods 4 ANC's excellent sound quality and effective active-noise cancelling, as well as the buds' wide feature set (including head gestures and squeeze controls for interacting with the buds).
The AirPods 4 aren't flawless, however. Battery life is a mixed-bag; while the buds lasted about seven hours in our playback battery test (longer than competitors like Xiaomi's Buds 5 and Huawei's FreeBuds 5), ANC uses more energy and, consequently, will drain the buds' battery faster. Apple promises an additional 30 hours of battery life via the charging case, but the buds themselves will likely last only about 4 to 6 hours with normal use.
Additionally, the AirPods 4 are a hard sell for non-Apple users, as most of the features are locked in Apple's "walled garden."
Still, the AirPods 4 represent a solid deal for what they are. At this sale price, that deal gets a bit sweeter.
