Apex Legends dev warns against datamining rumors then data miners find PvE and map information
Apex Legends has been hit by the full force of data miners, who have been busy scouring the game’s code for any kind of hint that an exciting change or addition is on the way. To counter the increasing amount of rumors created by mined data, Respawn community manager Jay Frechette has posted a friendly note on Reddit to remind gamers that information extracted from datamining could be old or discarded, and that rumors should be taken with a pinch of salt until the developer itself reveals official news.
However, since his post, two interesting tweets by RealApexLeaks will certainly at least have fans discussing the possibilities, even if it is important to remember Frechette’s words. In regard to the first datamined information, the leaker believes that Apex Legends could be getting new maps. The word “map” is repeated in the code, but this is quite a tenuous assumption and could lead to nothing.
The second leak suggests that a PvE (player versus environment) mode or element could be coming to Apex Legends. This would certainly be a fantastic addition to the battle royale title and would help attract gamers who are less interested in shooting every person in sight and more interested in exploring and exploiting their surroundings. Or it might just mean players will have to contend with actual people and NPC monsters wanting to mercilessly end their game.
