Almost a fortnight has passed since Gigabyte unveiled its latest eGPU solution. Now, the company claims to have introduced the same product again, which it continues to market as the Aorus RTX 5060 Ti AI Box.
As its name suggests, the Aorus RTX 5060 Ti AI Box utilises a GeForce RTX 5060 Ti GPU from Nvidia's Blackwell generation. Specifically, the company has opted for the 16 GB version (curr. $509.99 on Amazon), which surpasses its 8 GB counterpart when it comes to Frame Generation and 1% low FPS performance.
As we have covered previously, the Aorus RTX 5060 Ti AI Box is one of an increasing number of Thunderbolt 5-compatible eGPU solutions alongside the Aoostar EG01, Peladn Link S-3 and Razer Core X V2. However, it is the only one that features a desktop-class GPU, which Gigabyte complements with three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and Gigabit Ethernet within a 243 x 117 x 48 mm housing.
Moreover, the Aorus RTX 5060 Ti AI Box packs RGB lighting, USB Power Delivery 3.0 charging support and Gigabyte's Windforce cooling system. Apparently, the eGPU even delivers an FPS boost compared to a GeForce RTX 5080-equipped gaming laptop too, in part thanks to the minimal performance loss that Thunderbolt 5 incurs. For some reason, Gigabyte has not revealed pricing or availability yet despite today's official launch. Conversely, the more powerful Aorus RTX 5090 AI Box is now available in some markets, albeit at a hefty starting price.
